Microsoft Graph (Lite)

Microsoft Graph is the gateway to data and intelligence in Microsoft 365. It provides a unified model that you can use to access the data in Microsoft 365.

Preparing for authentication

To access your Microsoft Graph data, you need to authenticate the connection with your account credentials.

Information noteMake sure that the account you use has read access to the tables you want to fetch.

To generate a client ID:

  1. Go to the Azure Portal.
  2. Click New registration.
  3. In the Name field, enter Qlik.
  4. Set the register URL to: https://connector.qlik.com/auth/oauth/v3.htm.
  5. Click Register.
  6. Copy the Application (client) ID.

To generate a client secret:

  1. After you generated the client ID, click API permissions> Add a permission>Microsoft Graph>Delegated permissions.
  2. Click the drop-down list next to offline_access.
  3. To include the data from the integrations to Qlik, click the chevron symbol.
  4. For each integration that you want to include, select the following check boxes:
    • .Read.Basic
    • .Read.All or .Read.Shared
  5. Click Add permissions.
  6. Click Grant admin consent for... and Yes. If you cannot click Yes, contact your administrator.
  7. Click Certificates & secrets>New client secret.
  8. Select Never.
  9. Click Add.
  10. Copy the Value. This is your client secret.

Creating the connection

  1. Click Authenticate when you have filled in the required connection settings.

    You may be asked to log in to the source application.

    A window is displayed with an authentication code.

  2. Copy the code to the clipboard and return to the connection dialog.

  3. Paste the code in Complete authentication with the code provided by the source and click Verify.

    When status is Verified,the authentication is verified.

  4. Provide a name for the connection in Connection name.

  5. Select Open connection metadata to define metadata for the connection when it has been created.

Select a Data Movement gateway if required by your use case.

Information note

This field is not available with the Qlik Talend Cloud Starter subscription, as it does not support Data Movement gateway. If you have another subscription tier and do not want to use Data Movement gateway, select None.
