Uploading apps

You can upload an app you exported from another Qlik Cloud tenant or another Qlik Sense version.

You can upload apps going to the Create page of the Analytics activity center and selecting Upload. Select App and then add your app .qvf file to Upload. You can upload multiple apps at once. App properties such as custom attributes, are included when an app is uploaded.

After uploading the app, you need to add data sources to the uploaded app.

You can continue working on the app. If the app is ready, share the app with other users, or move the app to a shared space.

Information note

You can upload apps exported from other Qlik Cloud tenants and Qlik Sense 3.1 or later.

You cannot upload On-Demand apps to Qlik Cloud.

Information note

The Qlik GeoAnalytics Connector is not supported in Qlik Sense SaaS (including Qlik Cloud Government). If your uploaded app used the GeoAnalytics Connector, you can change your app load script to use Qlik Sense GeoOperations instead.

Migrating from GeoAnalytics Connector to Qlik GeoOperations

Qlik Cloud Government noteQlik Cloud Government users cannot import apps exported from QlikView.

Preparing apps from other versions of Qlik Sense for upload

While Qlik Cloud supports uploading apps from other versions of Qlik Sense, there are limitations:

  • Uploaded apps cannot exceed 1 GB in size. If you are licensed for large app support, you can upload apps up to 10 GB in size.

  • Uploaded apps include data already loaded into the app, but the data sources are removed. If you want to reload attached files and data connections you will need to re-add them. Ensure you have the information to add the connections to your app again.

  • Uploaded apps do not include any community or private sheets. You need to approve all sheets and stories you want to keep as base sheets and stories before you export the app.
