Managing generic links
Generic links offer a simple way to make external resources available in the cloud. For example, in a multi-cloud deployment consisting of QlikView or Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows in combination with Qlik Cloud, you can use these links to provide access to on-premises apps available in the cloud.
As a tenant or analytics admin, you can create and edit generic links both from the hub and the Management Console.
Adding generic links
-
From the hub: Tenant and analytics admins can add generic links directly from the hub. Users with the Owner or Can manage role in a space can also add links to that space. A link can be added to only one space at a time. For detailed instructions, see Adding links.
-
From the Management Console: Manage your generic links on the Generic links page, where you can create, edit, and delete links either individually or by uploading a CSV file containing multiple links. Qlik Cloud supports only UTF-8 encoding for these CSV files.
Access to the content linked is controlled by the permissions at the link destination. If a member has access to the link within the current space but does not have permission to the linked content, they will not be able to view it.
