Reset Task Descriptions
Last updated: 10/30/2026The Reset Task Descriptions step clears the tool's tracking description from the Qlik Cloud reload tasks that the plan created, from chains and single tasks alike, so the finalized tasks no longer carry migration metadata.

- Retrieval method:
Only reload tasks whose description is a parseable migration tag are updated. Their description is set to empty and everything else is left unchanged.
Notes
Warning note
Run this step last. The tag is what Migrate Tasks matches on to recognize its own tasks, and what Delete Tasks and Validate Tasks use to find them. Once the descriptions are cleared, a re-run creates duplicates instead of reusing the existing tasks.
