Tasks
Last updated: 10/30/2026The Tasks section of the Migration Steps includes all operations related to reload tasks and task chains from Qlik Sense Client-Managed. Tasks are placed after Applications because reload tasks reload applications.
Reload tasks and task chains from Qlik Sense Client-Managed are migrated to Qlik Cloud reload tasks. A chain's entry points are created on a time-based schedule and every downstream task on an event-based schedule, so the chain runs in Qlik Cloud as it did on the source.
This category replaces the Add Reload Schedules to Applications (legacy) step, which migrated only the first enabled schedule of each application.
Retrieval method in Qlik Cloud
Each migrated task carries a description tag that the later steps use to recognize it. This is the same mechanism that the Applications section describes for applications.
- Run Tasks starts the migrated tasks.
- Validate Tasks checks the migrated tasks against the live tenant.
- Delete Tasks removes the migrated tasks.
- Reset Task Descriptions clears the tag once the migration is final.

Reload tasks and task chains are retrieved, reviewed, and edited on the Tasks tab of the plan. In a job, chains are read-only. For details, see Tasks.
