Configuring Qlik Cloud Authentication

Configure Qlik Cloud authentication to create a secure connection between your Qlik and Talend tenants and enable new or extended capabilities deployed on Qlik Cloud Services.

Information noteImportant:

For new tenants (created February 2026 or later): Qlik Cloud authentication is configured automatically. No manual steps are required.

For legacy tenants (created before February 2026): Use the Joint Key Encryption button to establish the secure connection. This replaces the manual OAuth setup method.

To create this secure connection for legacy tenants, follow the steps below after you have generated and configured a secure access token in Talend Management Console.

Before you begin

Configuring joint-key encryption in Qlik Cloud Administration

Use Joint Key Encryption to establish the secure connection between your Qlik and Talend tenants.

The Joint Key Encryption initiates a key migration process that secures the communication between your tenants and enables new or extended capabilities deployed on Qlik Cloud Services.

Procedure

  1. In Qlik Cloud, go to the navigation menu and select Administration.
  2. In the Administration activity center, go to Settings and select the Talend Cloud tab.
  3. Verify that you have already entered the Talend Cloud access token under Talend Cloud Access Token.
The access token should have been generated in Talend Management Console under Configurations > Qlik Cloud.
  4. Click the Joint Key Encryption button.
This action initiates the key migration process to establish the secure connection.
  5. Monitor the key migration process. When complete, you will be redirected to the Tenant Encryption window.
  6. Complete the tenant encryption configuration as prompted by the system.
The system automatically encrypts your Qlik tenant data using Qlik Cloud encryption keys. No additional key configuration is required at this step.

Results

After successful completion, your Talend tenant can communicate and share information with your Qlik Cloud tenant. Your tenant data is now encrypted using Qlik Cloud encryption keys.
