Managing data sources in spaces

You can add data files and data connections directly in shared and personal spaces. This enables data sources to be added outside of apps for use by other space members.

All data sources available to a personal or shared space can be viewed in Data. Shared space members with Owner, Is admin, and Can edit can data files and data connections to shared spaces.

Adding data files to a space

You can add data files as data resources to your spaces. You can add more than one file at a time.

Data files must be 500 MB or less.

Do the following:

  1. In a personal or shared space, click and select Data sources.
  2. Click Add data file.
  3. Drag and drop your data files into the Add data file dialog.

    Alternatively, click Browse and navigate to your data files.

  4. Click Upload.

Adding connections as data resources to spaces

Connections can be added directly in spaces. The following connections cannot be added directly in a space and must be added in an app:

  • Amazon S3
  • Azure Storage
  • Dropbox
  • Google Drive
  • NFS

Do the following:

  1. In a personal or shared space, click and select Data sources.
  2. Click Add data connection.
  3. Select a data connection.

    The settings dialog, specific for the type of data source you selected, opens.

  4. Enter the connection settings for the data source.
  5. Optionally, click Test connection to confirm your settings.
  6. Click Create.

Editing data resources

You can edit data connections in spaces.

Do the following:

  1. In the Actions column, in the row of the data connection you want to edit, click More and select Edit.

    The settings dialog, specific for this type of data connection, opens.

  2. Edit the connection settings for the data source.
  3. Click Save.

Removing data sources

You can delete a data source from a space.

  1. In the Actions column, in the row of the data source you want to delete, click More and select Delete.

  2. Click Delete.
