Adding a license for premium

When you first install the Qlik Web Connectors, you have access to all the standard data source connectors. To access the premium connectors, you need to add a license.

The red icon beside the license tab indicates that there is no license associated with the Qlik Web Connectors.
Note: When you install or update the license in a server environment, the license must be installed on the same server that hosts the Qlik Web Connectors. If you have a local installation of the Qlik Web Connectors then the license should be installed on the local machine.

When you purchase a premium license from Qlik, you are provided with the following information:

  • serial number
  • control number
  • LEF file

Note: The LEF file is used for installing the license on a machine without internet connection.

Do the following:

  1. From the Qlik Web Connectors root directory, right-click the Qlik Web Connectors application and select Run as administrator.
  2. In the Qlik Web Connectors, select Run in default browser.
  3. At the top of the page, click the License tab.
  4. On the license page, enter the Owner name, the Owner organization, the Serial number, and the Control number.
  5. Click on Apply new LEF.

The License tab is updated to reflect the installed license.

Note: If you do not have internet access on the machine you are licensing, open the Lef.txt file in any text editor. Copy all the text in the file and paste it into the Enter LEF text box.
  6. Click on the Connectors tab to return to the list of connectors. The premium connectors are now licensed.

Tip: If you use premium connectors to fetch data with scheduled reloads, we recommend that you set a reminder for when the license expires. If you let the license expire, scheduled reloads with premium connectors will not work.
Note: The installed LEF license text can be found in the LicenceSettings.xml file, in the App_Data folder, of the Qlik Web Connectors folder on the root drive.
