Salesforce connector

The Qlik Salesforce Connector enables QlikView and Qlik Sense to efficiently load data into an app from a Salesforce.com data set. To access data, the user must have a Salesforce.com account with current access credentials. Once a connection to a Salesforce.com account has been created, data can be selected from tables available to the user’s account and then loaded into an app where it can be used in visualizations.

Supported Salesforce API version

The Salesforce Connector supports up to Salesforce API version 35.

Supported Salesforce data types

The following Salesforce.com data types are supported by the Salesforce Connector and are available for selection through the user interface. Fields containing unsupported data types are not displayed.

  • Autonumber
  • Checkbox
  • Currency
  • Date
  • Date/Time
  • Email
  • Formula
  • Geolocation
  • Lookup Relationship
  • Number
  • Percent
  • Phone
  • Picklist
  • Picklist (Multi-Select)
  • Roll-Up Summary
  • Text
  • Text (Area)
  • Text Area (Long)
  • Text Area (Rich)
  • Text (Encrypted)
  • URL
Note:

Geolocation is composed of two primitive data types: longitude and latitude. The Qlik Salesforce Connector supports Geolocation by displaying each of its primitive types in separate fields. When a table contains a field with the Geolocation data type, the field displays as empty. The component values of the Geolocation field are then displayed in the table as two separate fields.

Note:

In version 14.0 of the Qlik Salesforce Connector, NULL values in the Salesforce data source were loaded as empty strings. In version 14.1 of the Salesforce Connector, NULL values are loaded as real NULL values. You can force the Salesforce Connector to load NULL values as empty strings by adding the following code to your script in the Data load editor (Qlik Sense) or the Edit script dialog (QlikView):

EmptyRowsMapper:

MAPPING

LOAD

null() AS From,

" AS To

AutoGenerate 1;

MAP * Using EmptyRowsMapper;

Bulk API with PK Chunking are supported in this version. PK Chunking splits large queries into small chunks that are processed concurrently in a thread pool. Chunks are processed concurrently in a thread pool therefore improving query time and reducing timeout errors when processing large data tables.

Specify data load properties with Bulk API

The Qlik Salesforce Connector is built into Qlik Sense and Qlik Sense Cloud.

14.0

  • First version to be integrated with Qlik Sense. From now on it is not installed separately. When you install Qlik Sense, the connector is immediately available in Add data and Data load editor.
  • The Qlik Sense Enterprise installation removes an earlier version of the Salesforce Connector if it is installed on the server. When you install the latest version of Qlik Sense Desktop, you must manually uninstall the Qlik Salesforce Connector 13.x if it is installed on the system. If the Salesforce Connector 13.x version is installed on a Qlik Sense Desktop system, it overrides the 14.0 version installed with Qlik Sense Desktop.
