Uninstalling and changing the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool

This page provides guidance for removing QAMT (the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool) from a system and outlines current considerations for changing versions (for example, replacing with a newer release).

Uninstalling QAMT

To remove QAMT from the Windows environment:

1. Open Windows Services.
2. Locate and stop the service named Qlik Analytics Migration Tool.
3. Open Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (or Apps & Features).
4. Select Qlik Analytics Migration Tool from the list and uninstall.
5. To remove the files associated to previously created projects, do so in the C:\ProgramData\Qlik Analytics Migration Tool folder.

If a desktop shortcut was created during installation, it will not be removed automatically and will need to be deleted manually.

Changing QAMT versions

There is currently no supported method for in-place changes to QAMT versions. To replace QAMT with a newer release:

1. Fully uninstall the existing version.
2. Download and install the updated version manually.

An approved process for handling version changes is under review. Until then, changes should be treated as full reinstalls.
