Managing external modules for Talend Studio

Configure an artifact repository to store third-party Java libraries that are needed by Talend Studio. If your Talend Studio license has expired or if it is missing, you will not be able to configure an artifact repository.

Procedure

Log in to Talend Management Console.
Open the Configurations page.
Click Studio in the top menu.
Toggle ON the Enable artifact repository configuration option and click Configuration.
Select the type of your Artifact Repository Manager.
- Nexus 2
- Nexus 3 (from Talend Studio version 7.0)
- Artifactory (from Talend Studio version 7.1)
Enter the address of the Artifact Repository Manager.
Default settings:
- Nexus 3: http://localhost:8081
- Artifactory: http://localhost:8081/artifactory
Enter talend-custom-libs-snapshot as the Snapshot repository ID.
Enter talend-custom-libs-release as the Release repository ID.
Enter your username and password for the Artifact Repository Manager.
Click Save.

Results

At Talend Studio start-up the missing external libraries are detected and you are prompted to download and install them.

You can also install them manually, by clicking Help > Install Additional Packages and selecting Required third-party library, or by importing .jar files via Window > Talend > Modules > Import external jars.
