tFlowMeter Standard properties

These properties are used to configure tFlowMeter running in the Standard Job framework.

The Standard tFlowMeter component belongs to the Logs & Errors family.

The component in this framework is available in all Talend products.

Basic settings

Use input connection name as label

Select this check box to reuse the name given to the input main row flow as label in the logged data.

Mode

Select the type of values for the data measured: Absolute: the actual number of rows is logged

Relative: a ratio (%) of the number of rows is logged. When this option is selected, a Connections List shows to let you select a reference connection.

Thresholds

Adds a threshold to watch proportions in volumes measured. you can decide that the normal flow has to be between low and top end of a row number range, and if the flow is under this low end, there is a bottleneck.

Global Variables

Global Variables

ERROR_MESSAGE: the error message generated by the component when an error occurs. This is an After variable and it returns a string. This variable functions only if the Die on error check box is cleared, if the component has this check box.

A Flow variable functions during the execution of a component while an After variable functions after the execution of the component.

To fill up a field or expression with a variable, press Ctrl+Space to access the variable list and choose the variable to use from it.

For more information about variables, see Using contexts and variables.

Usage

Usage rule

Cannot be used as a start component as it requires an input flow to operate.

If you have a need of log, statistics and other measurement of your data flows, see Measuring data flows.
