Job logs

In the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool, job logs provide visibility into the execution details of each migration job. These logs are critical for tracking progress, identifying errors or warnings, and ensuring that each step of the migration process is completed as expected.

Logs are created and updated automatically when a job is run. They can be accessed directly through the user interface or manually via the server where the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool is installed.

Information note

Job logs are only available after a job has been executed. If a job has never been run, no logs will exist.

Accessing a job log

Follow the steps below to access the log for a specific job:

  1. Navigate to the Jobs tab
From the left-hand navigation, click on the Jobs tab.

  2. Locate the job
In the Jobs list, find the job for which you want to view the log.

  3. Click the Status info icon
Under the Status column, click the information icon next to the job's run status.

  4. Click the Show Log button
In the modal that appears, click the Show Log button to open the job log viewer.

Clearing a job log

Logs can be cleared to remove all recorded entries for a job. This is useful when rerunning jobs or troubleshooting.

Do the following:

  1. Access the job log
Follow the instructions in Accessing a job log.

  2. Click the Clear Log button
At the top of the log viewer, click Clear Log to remove all log entries.

  3. Verify
Once cleared, the log window will appear empty, ready to record new entries from future runs.

Log storage location

Each job's log file is saved within the corresponding project directory on the server:

Qlik Analytics Migration Tool\Migration Projects\<PROJECT>\<JOB>\Logs

If the job has not yet been executed, the Logs folder will not exist.
