Install the QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector

The QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector is installed in a location where it is recognized by QlikView and can be included in the list of connectors in the Edit Script dialog.

The Teradata FastExport and BTEQ utilities are required for the QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector to access a Teradata database over Teradata’s Parallel Transport (TPT) service. The utilities can be installed either before or after the connector is installed.

Information noteTo run the Teradata Connector, the user must have permissions to create tables within the Teradata database. This permission is required to create a log table in the database. The log table is used when Teradata exports the data.

System requirements

Version 1.0 of the QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector runs only on systems with 64-bit processors. It can be installed on any 64-bit system that runs QlikView. Those systems include:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Microsoft Windows 7
  • Mircrosoft Windows 8.1
  • Microsoft Windows 10

The QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector runs with QlikView and is designed to work with the same web browsers as QlikView.

Installing the connector

Do the following:

  1. Download the QVX_TPTConnector.exe file from Product Downloads.

    Install connectors separately

  2. Run the QVX_TPTConnector.exe.

    Information noteThe current revision of the Teradata (TPT) Connector 1.0 is 27914. If you have installed the earlier revision, 27733, you must uninstall it before installing the current revision. The current version does not support upgrading the previous version.

    The QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector installation wizard sets up the installation environment and completes the installation.

    The connector is then available from QlikView with the name "QvTptConnector.exe."

  3. Start QlikView.

    If QlikView is open when you install the Teradata (TPT) Connector, you must close and reopen it in order for QlikView to recognize the connector.

When you open the Edit Script dialog in QlikView, the QlikView Teradata (TPT) Connector is available as a connector.
