AI assistant (Qlik Answers) limitations in Talend Studio

AI model selection

The AI assistant (Qlik Answers) in Talend Studio uses the latest available Claude Sonnet model from Qlik. Claude Sonnet 4.6G is recommended for the 8.0.1-R2026-09 release. You can select an LLM from the dropdown list in Window > Preferences > Qlik Answers > Model. Qlik manages the model lifecycle and can update the model automatically.

Note that for Germany, you need to type bedrock/global.anthropic.claude-sonnet-4-6 in the Model parameter to be able to use the AI assistant (Qlik Answers).

Data processing and availability

During preview, Qlik uses a global inference profile. Your data can be processed in any available AWS commercial region in the following locations: Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, EU member states, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States of America. Your conversation history and Job metadata are encrypted and sent to the Qlik AI platform for processing. Qlik does not store this data on the Qlik AI platform or use it for model training.

The Qlik AI platform is not currently available in the Qlik Cloud regions in Israel and the United Arab Emirates. You cannot use the AI assistant if your Qlik tenant is in either of these regions.

Java and SQL code generation

• Java code generation may produce hallucinated code that uses nonexistent functions.
• Java and SQL code must be generated from the editing context window for tJava and cProcessor in Routines or beans editor.
• SQL code generation in DB component does not rely on the Repository metadata.

Jobs, Routes, and Data Services creation or update

The AI assistant (Qlik Answers) in Talend Studio provides early preview support for creating and updating Jobs, Routes, and Data Services. This capability does not yet support every component or design. The assistant has no access to the Repository or the full component list. This capability does not yet support the creation from scratch, but only the update with prompts.

Unsupported Job types and perspectives

The AI assistant is not supported yet for Big Data Jobs, the Profiling perspective, or the Mapping perspective.

tMap mapping

The AI-assisted mapping cannot yet create new columns in the output schema. You need to set up your input and output schemas before using it.
