AI assistant (Qlik Answers) in Talend Studio

The AI assistant (Qlik Answers) in Talend Studio provides an agentic chat interface that assists you while you work in Talend Studio. The assistant is available in the top bar menu by clicking Qlik AnswersQlik Answers, or from the Welcome page by clicking Ask Qlik Answers.

You can use the assistant to:
  • Generate Job descriptions
  • Generate Java and SQL code
  • Map data in the tMap component
  • Troubleshoot runtime errors
  • Updating Jobs and Routes (limited support)
Information noteImportant:
  • The AI assistant (Qlik Answers) in Talend Studio uses generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). Users are responsible for reviewing and verifying any GenAI output before using or sharing it, and evaluating whether Qlik Answers in Talend Studio is appropriate for any particular use case and whether it complies with applicable laws. Therefore, it is recommended to use it on test branch first, as the results may alter the Jobs, Routes, and Data Services.

Prerequisites

A Qlik Talend Cloud Premium Edition or Qlik Talend Cloud Enterprise Edition license is required. The Qlik Talend Cloud administrator must also complete the setup. For more information, see Setting up the AI assistant (Qlik Answers) in Talend Studio.

Overview of the AI assistant (Qlik Answers)

The AI assistant (Qlik Answers) includes the following controls:

  1. The New Conversation button starts a new conversation.
  2. The Start a new ask button starts a new conversation.
  3. The History button opens your previous conversations.
  4. The Suggested actions card lists actions you can start, such as summarizing the open Job.
  5. The context chips show which items Qlik Answers uses for the conversation. When you open a Job, the assistant automatically uses the Job as context. When you select a component in the Job, it automatically uses that component as context.
  6. The chat field allows to write a prompt to ask anything to Qlik Answers. You can click the Plus button to add files or folders as context. Then, you need to click Enter Send to send your prompt.
