Previewing data in the SQL editor

After you create a connection to a database, you can open a view in Talend Studio to see actual data in the database.

Before you begin

A database connection is created in the Profiling perspective.

In the DQ Repository tree view, expand Metadata > DB Connections.
Browse to a table in a given database connection, right-click it and select Preview.
The SQL editor opens in Talend Studio listing the data in the selected table.
Optional: If required, do any modifications in the query and save it.

The query is listed under the Libraries > Source Files folder in the DQ Repository tree view.
