Pairing or re-pairing a Talend Remote Engine
Pairing creates the connection between the physical Talend Remote Engine installation on a machine and the Remote Engine logical entity you created in Talend Management Console.
Until pairing completes, the engine cannot receive or run Talend Management Console tasks.
Pairing key
To establish this connection, you need a preauthorization key (also called a Remote Engine key or pre-authorized key) that you retrieve from Talend Management Console and apply to your engine using either the web configuration interface or a configuration file.
For instructions on pairing an engine, see Pairing a Remote Engine.
Re-pairing
- You need to re-install your engine.
- You have run into connection issues between the logical entity in Talend Management Console and the physical engine installation.
- You need to change the pairing key.
When you re-pair, you do not need to recreate the engine entity or reconfigure its roles and permissions in Talend Management Console.
The recommended method to re-pair a Talend Remote Engine is to perform a complete re-installation. If re-installation is not feasible, you can re-pair without reinstalling by removing the cached connection ID and reapplying the preauthorization key. For step-by-step instructions, see Troubleshooting: Re-pairing a Remote Engine.
Pairing during installation
If you installed the Talend Remote Engine using the graphical installer and provided the pairing key during installation, pairing was completed as part of the setup. You can proceed directly to deploying and running tasks with your engine.
For more information on installing the engine using the installer, see Installing the Remote Engine automatically.
