Using predefined static IP addresses for execution containers

This feature is available only with the Talend Cloud Platform licenses.

Administrators can generate predefined static IP addresses for cloud containers. These addresses can be white listed for cloud engine executions.

By default, up to 5 addresses are provided.

About this task

Talend Cloud provides IPs on the primary and the secondary AWS regions to maintain high availability.

Procedure

  1. Go to Configurations > Management Console.
  2. Toggle the Static IPs feature on.

Results

Predefined static IP addresses are generated for the primary and secondary AWS regions. You can add both lists to the authorized IP addresses on your network.

When running a task, the cloud container uses one of the listed addresses from the primary region, or the secondary if the primary fails.

In order for Talend Cloud Data Preparation to be able to connect to a remote database where data is stored, you need to authorize incoming connections to your database for Talend Cloud Data Preparation's IPs. The list of IP addresses to white-list can be found in the Configuration > Data Preparation tab.

Adding more static IP addresses with extra engine tokens

Coordinate with Qlik to schedule a maintenance window for adding the extra engine tokens and static IP addresses.

About this task

When you activate the Static IPs feature, you receive a number of predefined IPs based on your engine token count and the maximum number of Cloud Engines you can run. These static IPs are used randomly and automatically when starting Cloud Engines, without your control.

With extra engine tokens, you receive more predefined static IPs.

Procedure

  1. After purchasing new tokens, contact Qlik Support to schedule a maintenance window.
  2. After Qlik provisions the new static IPs, log into Talend Management Console and turn off and turn on the Static IPs toggle.
This makes the new pool of static IPs visible in Talend Management Console.
  3. Allow all the static IPs through your firewall rules.

Results

This ensures that the necessary static IPs are correctly configured and accessible for seamless operation of your Cloud Engines.
