Sharing an API

Talend Cloud API Designer allows you to share APIs with other users and/or groups of users.

Sharing in Talend Cloud API Designer can be defined on the API level or on the version level.

On the API level, a user or group can be added as either owner or editor. This gives the user access to all existing and future versions of the API. An API must always have at least one owner, but the original owner can be removed if the API has another owner.

On the version level, a user or group can be added as editor. If they are added on the version level, the user can only access the versions shared with them.

Users and user groups are managed in Talend Management Console. For more information, see the Managing users.

Information noteNote: The feature Retrieve items without owners enables you to reassign API contracts previously created by deleted users to an active connected user. This option is only available for users that have the Administrate API Designer permission enabled.
In the Talend Cloud API Designer settings, click Launch job under Retrieve items without owners. As a result, the job retrieves unassigned API contracts or projects from former collaborators. You can then find them back on your homepage and reassign them to your team.
