Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) overview

Qlik Cloud is available in multiple editions, supporting the varied needs of our customers, including the U.S. Public sector. Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) has differences from Qlik’s commercial Qlik Cloud offering due to approval activity required to support U.S. Public sector security and compliance. Wherever possible, Qlik keeps both the Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) and the commercial offerings in sync for product features and capabilities.

Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) feature set notes

The commercial version of Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) have almost the same rich feature set.

This section notes feature differences between the commercial version of Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US).

Analytics for business users

  • The Qlik Sense Mobile SaaS app for iOS and Android cannot be used with Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). If your organization has a deployment of mobile technology, the browser-based version of Qlik Sense from an iOS or Android operating system might be available to use. Contact your Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) tenant administrator to determine availability. For more information, see Qlik Sense Mobile for SaaS and Supported browsers.

  • Qlik Sense Desktop client users cannot authenticate against Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) as Qlik Sense Desktop Authentication is not supported. For more information, see Settings and Management.

  • Alerts are used to monitor data, and to detect outliers and anomalies. All alerting functionality is available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) except for alerting on Qlik Sense Mobile. For more information, see Monitoring data with alerts.

  • Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) users have many documentation, video, and learning options. They do not have access to the Connect & Learn pane. However, the options available from this pane can be accessed directly from Qlik Community, Support, and Learning websites.

  • Qlik Sense Business and Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS users have access to in-product announcements, in-product help, survey and feedback options, and industry walkthrough options. They also have access to Qlik Notifications for activities such as scheduled maintenance. These capabilities are not available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) users can check on Qliks status page for Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) scheduled change notifications.

Creating analytics and visualizing data

  • Visualization extensions enable you to extend the visualization capabilities of Qlik Sense by using standard Web technologies. Third-party extensions are supported in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). However, the use of third-party extensions might need to be defined and approved as part of an Agency Authority to Operate, depending on the security and compliance requirements your organization follows.   • Qlik Sense GeoOperations and Qlik GeoCoding capabilities enable geographic calculations and functions such as calculating routes or travel areas. GeoOperations can be used with Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). Qlik GeoCoding is not available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US).   • The Qlik Reporting Service is used to create customizable, automated reports. With this service you can deliver bursted, multi-page reports. The Qlik Reporting Service is available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) using the Qlik Reporting Service API for systematic integration and bespoke application report distribution. Access to this API for Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) customers requires an additional license. Loading and modeling analytics data

  • The Qlik SAP NetWeaver Connector lets you efficiently load data into a Qlik Sense app from SAP NetWeaver. The information might be stored in several different repositories within the SAP architecture, such as SAP BI/BW, an SAP ERP, or CRM system. This connector is available with Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US), and it’s available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS with an additional license. It is not available with Qlik Sense Business. For more information, see SAP NetWeaver.

  • Hybrid data delivery is an enterprise scale service that automatically and continuously uploads data from on-premises systems to Qlik Cloud. This feature is not available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). For more information, see Hybrid data delivery.

  • Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) supports connectivity with Snowflake databases. However, it does not support Snowflake key pairing or the option to change the role from the default given. For more information, see Create a Snowflake connection and Select and load data from a Snowflake database.

  • Direct Query lets you to directly communicate with underlying data sources without having to import the data. This feature is not available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). For more information, see Accessing cloud databases directly with Direct Query.

Self-hosted software

  • Qlik DataTransfer is a lightweight Windows application that lets you upload data from on-premises data sources to Qlik Sense without firewall tunneling. Customers can choose to use Qlik DataTransfer as part of their implementation of Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). This tool supports encrypted communications but is not FIPS compliant (Federal Information Processing Standards). Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) users can use it in their implementation pending their own risk review. For more information, see Installing Qlik DataTransfer. Qlik DataTransfer is not available to download from Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US), but it can be downloaded from the Qlik Download Site.

  • Qlik Lineage Connectors are an add-on module to Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS. These connectors extract lineage data from QlikView, QlikSense (client managed),external BI tools, and data sources. A graphical representation of the data journey can then be accessed by selecting Impact Analysis in a space defined within a Qlik Catalog Service target tenant. This feature is not available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). For more information, see Qlik Lineage Connectors. The Qlik Lineage Connector offering is self-hosted software available to download from the Qlik Download Site.

Administration and system management

  • Apps up to 5 GB in size (in-memory) are supported. Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS supports apps up to 10 GB in size with the Expanded apps option. This option is not available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). For more information, see Expanded apps and dedicated capacity.

  • Dedicated capacity provides additional dedicated memory and virtual CPU. Optionally, with Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS, you choose between 120 GB and 240 GB memory pods. By default, Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) includes two 240 GB memory pods. Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) organizations can choose additional memory pods.   • Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) does not support the Qlik Account IdP (identity provider) options. For more information, see Managing identity providers and Trust and Security at Qlik. The JSON Web Token (JWT) authentication standard can be used with Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). For more information, see OpenID Connect for integration with identity providers.

Interoperability with client-managed Qlik products

Extending Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US)

  • Qlik CLI is a command-line interface that provides access to all Qlik Cloud public APIs through a command line. Customers can choose to use Qlik CLI as part of their implementation of Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US). This tool supports encrypted communications but is not FIPS compliant (Federal Information Processing Standards). Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) users can use it in their implementation pending their own risk review. Qlik CLI can be downloaded from qlik-cli.

  • Qlik Application Automation is a no-code visual interface that lets Qlik Sense SaaS users build automated analytics and data workflows by integrating applications and services from outside of your Qlik environment. Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) does not support Qlik Application Automation. For more information, see Qlik Application Automation.

  • Qlik Forts is a hybrid service that securely extends Qlik Sense SaaS capabilities to customer's data landscape, regardless of location, whether on premise, in a private data center or public cloud. Qlik Cloud and Forts work together as a single supported solution. Users get a seamless experience and single point of entry, so access to analytics and insights can easily scale across the organization. Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) does not support Qlik Forts. For more information, see Qlik Forts.

  • OAuth is a standard security protocol for authorization and delegation. It allows third-party applications to access API resources without disclosing the end-user credentials. An OAuth client can obtain an authorization code and exchange it with an access token that can be used to access Qlik CloudAPIs. Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) does not support OAuth clients. For more information, see Creating and managing OAuth clients and Trust and Security at Qlik.

Deploying Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US)

  • The Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) subscription process differs from the Qlik Sense Business and Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS process. For example, you cannot manually create your tenant or use the My Qlik portal to purchase and manage the subscription. For more information, contact your primary Qlik support representative.

  • Multiple Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) tenants cannot be included in a single Qlik subscription. Each tenant requires its own separate subscription.
