Allocating Cloud Engines to environments

Allocate Cloud Engines to environments proportionally to the number of concurrent task executions you plan to run. Three tasks can be run in parallel on a Cloud Engine.

Allocated Cloud Engines consume engine tokens and are displayed as In use even if they are not running executions. For more information about engine tokens, see Engine tokens.

Before you begin

  • Environments have been created.
  • You have the permission Environments - Manage (permission ID: TMC_ENVIRONMENT_MANAGEMENT).

Procedure

  1. On the Processing page, click the Cloud Engines tab.
  2. In the Environment Assignment table, click the Cloud Engines value for the environment you want to configure.
  3. Enter the number of Cloud Engines to allocate to this environment.

The value cannot exceed the total number of Cloud Engines available on your subscription. The system validates the count before saving.

Three parallel runs are allowed on a single Cloud Engine. If three different tasks are already running on a Cloud Engine, or three runs of the same task are ongoing, another Cloud Engine is selected for the next execution.

  4. Press Enter or click outside the field to save.

Results

Cloud Engines are allocated to the environment. You are ready to execute tasks within the limits you have set.
