Downloading and applying a patch to Talend Studio
A patch is a software update that fixes bugs that you can download and apply manually.
Due to technical limitations, you cannot uninstall a patch. For this reason, Talend recommends to follow the best practices described below to test the patch first before applying the patch to production. These instructions should be read as general guidance. For specific patches instructions, carefully read the patch and release notes.
Information noteWarning:
- If you are using Talend Studio version 8.0, you can apply patches for testing purposes but we don't recommend using them in production. For production environments, the best practice is to use the update URL mechanism. For more information, see Updating Talend Studio 8.0.
- All Talend Studio instances connected to the same project must install the same patch. Updating a Talend Studio connected to a project requires all the Talend Studio instances connected to that project to be updated to the same version.
- If you are using Talend Studio 7.3.1 and have enabled the shared mode for it, you need to first disable the shared mode before applying any patch. For more information, see Enabling the shared mode for Talend Studio 7.3.
