Working with the Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app

Use the Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app to access and consume Qlik Sense applications that your administrator has made available to you on a Qlik Sense Enterprise server. Download applications on your device to access them at any moment without the need for an internet connection.

Typically, Qlik Sense applications are shared with you in your streams for you to download and use offline. Applications that you download and open offline are available for interaction. You can make selections in the data, but the applications cannot be developed further or saved.

Information noteThe Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app will use Wi-Fi when it is available. If Wi-Fi is not available, the app will attempt to use cellular data. If you do not want the app to use cellular data, disable cellular data on your device when you use the mobile app.

The Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app can also view Qlik Sense mashups that your administrator has made available to you on a Qlik Sense Enterprise server. Qlik Sense mashups cannot be downloaded and opened offline. You can make selections in the data, but you cannot modify the mashup.

Best practices for working with the Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app

Follow these simple steps to make sure that you can access and consume Qlik Sense applications while offline.

  • Download an application, and then test it offline, to ensure that the application works as you would expect before you need to use it in an important situation when you cannot connect to a server.
  • To test the application while offline, turn on Airplane mode on your device, or otherwise disconnect from the server. The Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app will inform you that you are disconnected from the server.
  • If you plan to use the mobile app offline for an extended period of time, log into your Qlik Sense Enterprise to reset the timer for offline use. For more information about the offline time period, see Opening the Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile app while offline.
  • Third party visualization extensions may behave differently in Qlik Sense Client-Managed Mobile compared to Qlik Sense. Use native Qlik extensions instead.
