QV2QS and the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool
QV2QS focuses on the UI conversion layer of a QlikView-to-Qlik Cloud migration: sheets, visualizations, layout, styling, and expressions. QV2QS does not handle load script modernization, data connection creation, space provisioning, user mapping, or security rule migration. These capabilities are provided by the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool (QAMT).
QAMT overview
QAMT is an enterprise migration platform that orchestrates the full migration lifecycle from QlikView, Qlik Sense Client-Managed, and Qlik NPrinting to Qlik Cloud. QAMT manages data connections, spaces, user permissions, load script transformation, application reload schedules, and post-migration validation. QAMT converts QlikView documents to QVF format and preserves load scripts, variables, master dimensions, and master measures, but QAMT does not recreate sheet layouts or visualization objects.
Planned integration
QV2QS is intended to fill this gap. QV2QS is planned to be integrated within QAMT as the UI conversion component of the end-to-end migration pipeline. When integrated, QV2QS will convert sheet layouts and visualization objects inline as part of the broader QAMT workflow, enabling a complete migration without manual sheet reconstruction.
Integration of QV2QS within QAMT is planned for a future release. Product plans are subject to change and should not be relied upon in making purchasing decisions or as a commitment to deliver specific functionality.
Migration planning
QAMT provides structured migration planning including app sequencing, wave management, validation checklists, and progress tracking. For organizations planning a phased migration, QAMT is the recommended starting point for defining the overall migration approach. QV2QS is planned to integrate within QAMT as the UI conversion component, enabling a single coordinated workflow for both UI conversion and infrastructure migration.
For guidance on migration planning, phasing, and wave management, see Qlik Analytics Migration Tool overview in the Migration Center documentation.
Standalone use
QV2QS is also available as a standalone tool. QV2QS is a single Windows executable with no installer and no server infrastructure. This lightweight footprint makes QV2QS suitable for smaller environments, individual developers, and teams that need to evaluate UI conversion results before committing to a full migration.
For teams without QAMT, the remaining migration tasks (data connections, reload scheduling, user access) can be completed manually in Qlik Cloud. Data connections are created in the Qlik Cloud Management Console. Reload schedules are configured in the app settings. User access is managed through Qlik Cloud spaces and roles. For a small to medium-size QlikView estate, manual configuration is a practical alternative to deploying QAMT infrastructure.
