Benefits:
- Catches silent email-delivery failures before users notice missing reports/notifications
- Confirms gateway notifications are still routed to a monitored mailbox
- Avoids escalations from users who never received an alert
Goal
If the tenant email server is unreachable or unconfigured, email notifications and email-delivered reports will fail silently from the user's perspective. The tenant supports SMTP with username and password authentication (suitable for providers such as Google Workspace) and OAuth2 for Microsoft 365, in both cases over StartTLS or SSL/TLS encryption; see Qlik's email-config page for current options and SPF allowlist guidance. A monthly health check (sample notification, sample subscription delivery) confirms the email path is alive.
