Creating a project upgrade manifest

After the configuration of the installation folder of your CI/CD sandbox, you need to create a project upgrade manifest. For more information, check Migrating Talend projects and artifacts.

Before you begin

You should start from the homepage of the Migration: Projects & Artifacts tab.

Procedure

  1. Your sandbox is selected by default. To start configuring the manifest, click the + icon at the bottom of the page.
  2. At the top of the window, a timeline appears, showing the first five stages of the manifest configuration. Select the sandbox version for this manifest.
  3. Select the manifest type and click Continue:
    • Project Upgrade: To generate project upgrade report for the selected sandbox/Talend CommandLine version.

    • Project CI/CD: To create a CI/CD manifest to build, package and publish Talend Job artifacts.

  4. You can identify the source project to migrate by selecting it in Talend Administration Center or by entering its local or remote path, then click Continue.
  5. In the projects list, select your project and click Continue.
  6. Select the location of the Talend project and access information. For example, for an external Git Repository:
  7. Click Load.

Results

The project is loaded and you can access it in ready only mode in the web version of Talend Studio. A new Project upgrade tab is created.
The new Project Upgrade tab

The name and description of the manifest are auto-generated based on the information of the source project and the selected sandbox/Talend CommandLine version.

In the Configuration tab, the different elements of the manifest are summarized as:

  • Environment: Selected sandbox version

  • Source: Talend project location

  • Target: Types of manifest

Your project upgrade pipeline is ready to run.
