Installing the CI/CD environment

In this section, you configure and execute the installation of a CI/CD sandbox running the latest release of Talend CommandLine.

About this task

Talend Cloud Migration Platform downloads, installs, and configures all the selected tools. These tools are part of the sandbox installation only and will not overwrite any configuration of already installed ones in the workstation or server.

Talend Cloud Migration Platform requires an access to the internet to download the installation packages. Ensure that proxy configurations are set accordingly. The sandbox installation will display an update for each step. The overall installation will vary based on the internet speed and can range between 6 and 20 minutes.

Procedure

  1. In the left menu, click Migration.
  2. In the Talend Projects panel, click Start.
Information noteTip: The Migration tab is only available if you connected Talend Cloud Migration Platform to Talend Cloud. If you don't see it, select the Talend Cloud tab and connect using your credentials.
  3. If it is the first time you are accessing this page, a popup prompts you to install a sandbox. Click Installation.
Popup asking to install the Talend 8 CI/CD sandbox environment
  4. You can change the default installation folder and the version of the Talend CommandLine.
  5. Click Install.
Talend 8 CI/CD sandbox environment page with the install button highlighted and a message saying that the CI/CD sandbox environment was built successfully
  6. Follow the execution on screen. The steps are progressively displayed. Some of them are displayed in a terminal, showing a stream of installation logs. The tools are installed quickly, but Talend CommandLine installation takes more time. The whole installation process should take around 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the availability of the Talend update site.
