Generating a Job to recuperate regular expressions

From Profiling perspective of Talend Studio, you can generate an automated Job to recuperate regular expressions from the Internet library RegExLib and write them in a CSV file.

You can then import these regular expressions in Talend Studio through the Import Patterns option.

Before you begin

You have selected the Profiling perspective.

Procedure

  1. In the DQ Repository tree view, expand Libraries > Patterns.
    Contextual menu of the Regex node.
  2. Right-click the Regex folder.
  3. From the contextual menu, select Generate Jobs > Get Patterns.
    The Integration perspective opens on the generated Job.
    Job using the tFindRegexlibExpressions, tMap, and the tFileOutputDelimited components.
  4. In the workspace, select the tFindRegexlibExpression component to display its Basic settings view.

  5. In the Key Words field, enter the regular expression name you want to recuperate.
  6. If required, click any of the two other components to display the Basic settings view to modify any of the component parameters.
  7. Save the Job and press F6 to execute it.
    A message is displayed to show the progress of the operation.

Results

All specified regular expression are recuperated from the Internet library and written in the CSV file. You can now import the recuperated regular expressions into Talend Studio by using the Import Patterns option.
