Creating users

A Security Administrator can create and manage users in Talend Management Console.

Creating a user when the unified administration is enabled

This procedure applies to the regions where the unified administration is enabled.

About this task

Synchronization of user accounts follows specific rules to keep users and their roles aligned between Qlik Cloud and Talend Cloud. For more information on how the synchronization of users works between Qlik Cloud and Talend Cloud, see Synchronizing users.

Procedure

  1. Go to Users & Security > Users.
  2. Click Add User.
  3. Enter the email address of the user.
If the single sign-on option is enabled, ensure that the user's Talend Cloud email address is their username in Okta.
  4. Assign predefined roles to the new user from the Role(s) dropdown list for each of the cloud applications.
The created user cannot log in until a role is assigned.
  5. Optional: To assign the new user to an existing group, select a group from Group(s) dropdown list.
  6. Click Save.

Results

The new user appears in the list of users.

Talend Management Console sends an invitation email to the user to join and create a password.

The assigned roles and groups can be edited directly from the Users tab.

Information about first, middle, and last names, job title, phone number, language, and region displayed in the User details panel can be edited from the Account page. For more information, see Editing your personal information from the Account page.
