Configuring Remote Engine notifications

You can configure automatic email notifications for yourself if certain events occur related to Remote Engine allocated in Talend Management Console.

Procedure

  1. Open the Engines tab of the Processing page.
  2. Click the name of the source environment.
  3. If the Remote Engine you want to monitor is not part of a Remote Engine cluster, hover over the name of Remote Engine and click the bell icon in the Notifications column.
  4. If the Remote Engine you want to monitor is part of a Remote Engine cluster:
    1. Click the name of the cluster.
    2. In the Cluster details tab, hover over the name of the Remote Engine and click the bell icon.
  5. In the pop-up window, select the event you want to be notified about.
Email notifications can be sent if the Remote Engine reaches the following statuses:
    • Deleted
    • Unavailable
Information noteTip: An engine status becomes unavailable if Talend Management Console does not receive engine's container statistics update, even when it is still receiving heartbeat signals from the engine. These updates confirm that the HTTPS connection to the message queue (AMQ) is active, enabling the engine to process task run lifecycle events.
For more information on engine health signals (heartbeat and container statistics update), see:
  6. Click Apply.

Results

After the configuration is saved, the bell icon will always be visible next to the Remote Engine.

The bell icon is also visible in the Cluster details tab.
