Using context environments for CI/CD implementation
After being published to Talend Cloud, a Job artifact or Route artifact is executed with specifications that vary across different Talend Management Console environments in a CI/CD workflow, such as those between a QA environment and a Production environment.
A Talend Management Console environment is a self-contained space with the required resources (connections, engines, and so on) that allow the execution of artifacts in isolation, with no impacts on other environments.
Talend Management Console allows you to create promotion pipelines to transition your cloud artifacts from a source to a target environment.
During this process, if a target environment shares its name with a context environment defined in Talend Studio, the artifact inherits the context parameter values set during design in Talend Studio.
This mechanism underscores the importance of giving the same names to your context environments and their corresponding Talend Management Console environments. By maintaining consistent names, context variables can seamlessly propagate across your CI/CD environments.
