Upgrading Talend Runtime
The usual way of upgrading Talend Runtime is to install a patch on top of an existing container. However, when the core frameworks need to be upgraded, as is the case with most long-term support versions (LTS), the upgrade requires a complete new installation of the new Talend Runtime version.
As a consequence, you must migrate from the previously installed Talend Runtime and then patch the new installation.
These Talend Runtime LTS versions are:
- 8.0.1 initial (released 2021-11-09)
- 8.0.1-R2022-07-RT (released 2022-08-03)
- 8.0.1-R2022-10-RT (released 2022-10-27)
- 8.0.1-R2023-08-RT (released 2023-08-30)
- 7.3.1 initial (released 2020-02-19)
- 7.3.1-R2022-09-RT (released 2022-10-24)
Follow the manual or the automatic migration procedures explained below to install the new runtime version, and then replicate runtime configurations and bundle installations to this new version.
