Deleting master data records from an entity

You can logically delete one or more master data records pertaining to an entity from the data record list.

The logically deleted data records can be recovered from the Recycle Bin of Talend MDM Web UI later if required.

About this task

The following example shows how to delete one or more master data records pertaining to the entity Product in MDM demo project.

Procedure

  1. Perform a search with a specified criteria to narrow down the listed data records by following Searching for master data records in an entity if needed.
  2. Select the check box next to each data record you want to delete.
    A DELETE RECORDS button is displayed at the top of the page.
    Information noteTip: Talend Data Authoring for MDM allows you to select data records across multiple pages.
  3. Click DELETE RECORDS.
    A confirmation dialog box opens.
  4. Click DELETE to confirm the deletion.

    The selected master data records are logically deleted from the data record list and a message N records successfully deleted (N is the number of the deleted records) is displayed on the upper right corner.

    You can delete a single record also by moving your mouse over the record and clicking Delete record in its first cell.
