Understanding the update lifecycle for Talend Studio

A monthly release uses the RYYYY-MM format and include new features, previews, improvements, bug fixes, and security updates. Monthly releases continue on the existing monthly update schedule.
Support releases
A support release (SR) is based on an October monthly release. The October release remains a monthly release and becomes the baseline for the next SR cycle. SRs use the RYYYY-10-SRnn format.
Standard support releases provide CVE and critical support issue fixes without new features or preview features. The standard support period lasts one year. The first cycle uses R2026-10 as its baseline, with monthly SRs planned from November 2026 through September 2027.
After the standard support period, you can request extended support for up to six additional months. Extended support releases use the same naming format as SRs.
Extended Support covers critical CVE remediation and severe production-blocking issues. It does not cover medium or low-severity CVEs. Extended support releases are provided on request, not every possible monthly release is issued.
Update paths
You can update Talend Studio to a later release. Note that you cannot downgrade to an earlier monthly release or SR.

To install R2026-10-SR01, the installed version must be 8.0.1-R2024-05 or later. Talend Studio versions from R2024-04 or earlier cannot upgrade directly to R2026-10 or later. First apply an intermediate update to reach R2024-05 or later, or install Talend Studio again.
