Introduction
Originally developed for Talend on-premises environments, Qlik Talend Cloud Migration Toolkit (QTCMT) has expanded its capabilities to also support client-managed Qlik Data Integration and Stitch customers, offering a versatile solution across Qlik's data integration portfolio.
QTCMT provides a structured methodology to migrate on-premises Qlik assets to QlikTalend Cloud through three functional phases:
Inventory
- Automatically scans and catalogs all customer-developed assets in on-premises environments
- Maps asset types, usage patterns, and interdependencies
- Creates a comprehensive baseline for migration planning
Assessment
- Evaluates technical compatibility of assets with QlikTalend Cloud
- Identifies gaps, potential risks, and required transformations
- Organizes assets into logical migration groups based on priority and dependencies
- Delivers valuable insights into current usage patterns and resource utilization
Migration
- Implements REST API integration and scripting to rebuild assets in cloud environment
- Handles transformation and upload processes through automated workflows
- Provides tracking mechanisms to monitor progress, verify results, and maintain consistency
The toolkit supports teams through each migration phase with purpose-built functionality designed to minimize disruption while transitioning to cloud-based data integration.
On-premises upgrade
Qlik Talend Cloud Migration Toolkit also supports the migration and upgrade of a Talend Administration Center (TAC) instance to another TAC instance. The on-premises migration transfers administrative assets, projects, and runtime configurations from a source instance to a fresh target instance. Supported migration paths include Talend 7 to Talend 7, Talend 7 to Talend 8, and Talend 8 to Talend 8.
