Triage failed reloads

Last updated: 2026-11-03

Cadence: Daily

Subscription model: All

Roles: Tenant Admin (TA), Analytics Admin (AA), Data Admin (DA—for Data Integration tasks)

Last verified: 2026-05

Initial Recurring
Estimated time 15 min 5–10 min

Benefits:

  • Early detection of broken reload schedules
  • Faster mean-time-to-recovery for downstream consumers
  • Pattern detection across recurring failures

Goal

On the Applications content page in the admin console, the Scheduling column shows reload status. The admin console also has a dedicated Tasks view that consolidates scheduled reload tasks tenant-wide, which is often faster for triage than scanning the Applications page app by app. Tenant and Analytics admins can view, edit, and delete tasks for scheduled reloads. Creating or editing reload tasks also requires a Professional user entitlement (user-based subscriptions; the capacity-based equivalent is Full User) plus a suitable space role: Can manage or Can edit on shared spaces, Can manage or Can operate on managed spaces. Data Admins can manage Data Integration tasks. Daily triage of failures is essential to maintain a reliable analytics environment.

Reminder—three independent permission layers. Reload-task management is gated by all three of Qlik's permission layers at once: entitlement (what the role holder is licensed to do), security role (tenant-scoped permissions like Tenant Admin or a custom role), and space role (per-space permissions like Can manage). See Glossary → Identity, access, and security for the full model.

Automation helpers

  • Qlik Cloud Monitoring Apps Deployer—Installs / maintains the Reload Analyzer cited above.
  • Alert app owners about apps without reloads in the past X days—Catches schedules that have stopped firing.
  • Create a ServiceNow incident when reload fails—Routes failures into the incident-management workflow.
  • Reload app and retry if reload fails—Auto-recovery for transient failures, reducing the daily triage queue.
