Running a Job remotely
Talend Studio allows you to deploy and execute your Jobs on a Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer when you work on either a local project or on a remote one on the condition that you are connected with Talend Management Console or Talend Administration Center.
If you are working on a remote project and Talend Studio is disconnected from Talend Management Console or Talend Administration Center, the Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer settings can not be retrieved and you can not configure them manually in Talend Studio. This makes it impossible to run the Job remotely.
Before you begin
- The Talend Remote Engine or
Talend JobServer
settings are defined correctly in Talend Studio.
For a local project, set the Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer details in the view of Talend Studio.
For a remote project, check that your Talend Studio is connected with Talend Management Console or Talend Administration Center. When Talend Studio is connected with Talend Management Console or Talend Administration Center, the Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer settings are automatically retrieved and are read only.
If Talend Studio is disconnected from Talend Management Console or Talend Administration Center, the Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer settings can not be retrieved and you can not configure them manually.
For more information on how to set the Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer details in Talend Studio, see Configuring remote execution.
- The agent is running on the Talend Remote Engine or Talend JobServer.
- The Talend JobServer must not be part of a virtual server or a cluster.
- When using Talend Remote Engine, respect all the requirements described in the following section: Enabling remote run in Talend Studio.
