Managing the JRXML templates in Talend Studio

You can rename the JRXML templates or template folder in Talend Studio. You can also drop templates in different folders under JRXML Template or delete them completely from Talend Studio.

Changing the path of a JRXML template

Under JRXML Template, you can move a template from one folder to another. If this template is used to generate a report file, the template path in the report editor is automatically updated to its new path in the DQ Repository.

Before you begin

At least one JRXML template is imported or created in the Profiling perspective.

Procedure

  1. In the DQ Repository tree view, expand Libraries > JRXML Template.
  2. Drag a template from its initial folder and drop it in another folder.
If the template is used to generate a report file, the template path is updated accordingly in the report editor.
  3. If you get a warning message when trying to generate a report file about a JRXML template not accessible or not existing, browse to the renamed folder or template in the report editor and regenerate the report.

Duplicating or creating a JRXML template

To avoid creating a template from scratch, you can duplicate an existing one and work around its metadata and definition to have a new template and use it to generate reports.

Before you begin

At least one template is imported in the Profiling perspective.

Procedure

  1. In the DQ Repository tree view, expand Libraries > JRXML Templates.
  2. Right-click a template and select Duplicate.
    The Input Dialog is displayed.
  3. In the Input the new label field, enter the template name.
  4. Click OK.
The template is listed under JRXML Template.
  5. To edit the new template, double-click it.
  6. Save the new template.
