Users

Users are imported from user directories. Once imported you can manage user access:

  • Using the security rules editor you can create rules, based on user ID's and names, to provide access to Qlik Sense.
  • You can assign QMC administrative roles. The roles need to be defined in the security rules page.
Tip noteYou can edit users that are associated with a stream or data connection. Simply select the stream or data connection from the Streams overview or Data Connections overview, click Users from the property groups, select the user and then click Edit.

The Users overview lists all the available users. You can manage your users by performing a number of actions, as described in the following:

Name The name of the user. Click ] to view user information in a separate window. Click outside of the window (or press the keyboard key "Esc") to close the window.
User directory The user directory that the user is associated with.
User ID The user ID of the user.
Admin roles The administrative roles connected with the user.
Inactive Shows if the user is inactive (Blocked or Removed externally).
Blocked Shows if the user is blocked.
Removed externally Shows if the user has been removed externally (typically if the user has been removed from the user directory).
Tags The QMC tags that are connected to the user.
ô Refreshing page: Click to manually refresh the page.

Sorting columns: Click to sort the list alphabetically, ascending or descending according to the nature of the column.

Filtering columns: Click to open a dialog and filter the list based on that column and your filter criteria as you type. Click E to remove the filter. Click outside of the filter dialog (or press the keyboard key "Esc") to close the dialog. The filter icon is inverted when a filter is applied to a column . You can apply filters to multiple columns to narrow your search.

Edit Editing users: Click to edit the selected users.
Delete Deleting apps: Click to delete the selected users.
Show more items

Show more items: The overview shows a set number of items by default. To show more items, scroll to the end of the list and click Show more items. Sorting and filtering of items is always done on the full database list of items, not only the items that are on display.

Tip noteDouble-click an item in the overview to open the resource's edit page. For multiple selections, hold down Ctrl while single-clicking the items or hold down the left mouse button while dragging the mouse cursor over items. Then click Edit in the action bar to open the edit page.
