Preparing for authentication
To access your Gladly data, you need to authenticate the connection with your account credentials.
To give a user the permission to access an API:
- In Gladly, click the menu in the left top corner and navigate to Settings>Users.
- Search and select the user who needs the access. A permission named API User is created.
- Select the permission and do not change the Agent role of the user.
- Click Save.
To generate an API token:
- In Gladly, go to More settings.
- If you do not see this menu, request the access to the API. See the procedure above.
- Click API Tokens and Create Token in the top right corner.
- Copy the API token.
You can find your Help Center ID in Gladly:
- Navigate to Settings>Help Center.
- Click the three dots next to Help Center.
- Select Configure.
- Copy the Help Center ID from the URL.
Creating the connection

- Fill in the required connection properties.

Provide a name for the connection in Connection name.

Select Open connection metadata to define metadata for the connection when it has been created.

Click Create.
