Appendix: Talend Cloud packaging and simpler deployments
For information on packaging and pricing, see the Qlik website.
The Talend Managed Physical Architecture section of this document covers the Platform licensing levels, which are typically purchased by customers when they have a need for an Enterprise deployment of Talend and a need to implement solutions to more advanced integration problems.
- The physical architecture diagrams in the Talend Cloud Data Fabric Architecture section relate to the Talend Cloud Data Fabric licensing level. When this licensing level is combined with Talend Cloud Data Catalog and Data Loader it forms the full Talend Cloud Data Fabric.
- The physical architecture diagrams in the Real-time, Event Driven and Batch Integration Architecture section relate to the Talend Cloud API Services Platform licensing level.
- The physical architecture diagrams in the Batch Integration Architecture section relate to either the Talend Cloud Big Data Platform licensing level or Talend Cloud Data Management Platform licensing level.
It is important to note all of the above cases refer to the same unified platform, Talend Cloud Data Fabric, and that specific features are activated by license level.
Simpler deployments of Talend Cloud Data Fabric
For simpler use cases that do not necessitate the use of an enterprise SDLC or do not need
the advanced features of the platform license level offerings, Talend provides
a set of entry level license levels:
- Talend Cloud Pipeline Designer Standard (covered earlier in this document: Talend Cloud Pipeline Designer Architecture)
- Talend Cloud Data Integration
- Talend Cloud Big Data
- Maximum of two environments
- Talend recommends a manual process of testing and deploying artifact vs the recommendation to use Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment with the platform license levels. This is of course related to the two environment limitation, but is also because smaller scale projects do not require such automation.
- Data Integration and Big Data licenses do not get access to the Dictionary Service in Talend Cloud
- Talend Cloud Data Integration and Talend Cloud Big Data licenses cannot upgrade to the full Talend Cloud Data Inventory application.
- Using both Talend Cloud Pipeline Designer and Talend Studio is possible but not shown on the architecture diagrams as any customer with such a requirement would likely require one of the platform license levels and the enterprise scale deployment that is associated .
