Importing and discovering the demo data quality rule

You can import a demo data quality rule to understand how rules work before you create your own rules.

Importing the demo data quality rule

Before you begin

You have the Rules - View and the Rules - Create permissions.

About this task

If the demo content has already been imported, the demo rule cannot be imported:
  1. If you have the Demo - Improve product catalog data quality campaign, delete it.
  2. Delete the Demo - Product data model.
  3. Import the demo content again.

To launch the guided tour and import the demo content:

Procedure

  1. In Talend Cloud Data Stewardship, click your username on the top-right corner.
  2. Click Guided tour.
    Guided tour option selected from the username menu.
  3. Toggle Import demo content? to Yes and click Next. The demo is being imported. It can take a few minutes.
  4. To verify that the demo rule has been imported, click Data quality rules in the left panel. The demo rule is named: Demo - Product packaging.
    The rule has also been added to the Demo - Product demo data model and applied to the Demo - Improve product catalog data quality demo campaign.

Discovering the demo data quality rule

Procedure

  1. To see how the rule has been added to the data model, click Data models in the left panel and click the Demo - Product data model.
  2. Select the Rules tab.
  3. Click the rule. The rule variables and the attributes of the data model have been automatically associated.

  4. In the left panel, click Campaigns and click the Demo - Improve product catalog data quality campaign.
  5. Select the Packaging column.
  6. In the right panel, select the Rule tab. The demo rule applies to the campaign.
  7. To see the number and the percentage of invalid, non-applicable, and valid values, hover over each color in the quality bar.

  8. To filter the tasks by invalid, non-applicable, or valid values, click a color.

What to do next

If needed, you can delete the demo rule. The data model and the campaign will be updated automatically.
