Predefined roles and permissions

The predefined roles for Talend Cloud Data Inventory defined in Talend Management Console are:

  • Connection Manager
  • Dataset Administrator
  • Dataset Manager
  • Dataset Viewer

The following tables describe the default set of permissions associated to each predefined role.

Connection Manager
Permission Description
Connections - Add Allows the user to create a connection.
Connections - Delete Allows the user to delete a connection.
Connections - Edit Allows the user to edit a connection, including the connection name.
Connections - Share Allows the user to share a connection.
Connections - View Allows the user to view the connection configuration.
Dataset Administrator
Permission Description
Connections - Add Allows the user to create a connection.
Connections - Delete Allows the user to delete a connection.
Connections - Edit Allows the user to edit a connection, including the connection name.
Connections - Share Allows the user to share a connection.
Connections - View Allows the user to view the connection configuration.
Crawling - Add Allows the user to create and run a crawler.
Crawling - Delete Allows the user to delete a crawler.
Crawling - View Allows the user to view the crawler configuration and the progress of the crawling.
Crawling - Edit Allows the user to edit and run a crawler.
Custom attributes - Add Allows the user to add a custom attribute.
Custom attributes - Delete Allows the user to delete a custom attribute.
Custom attributes - View Allows the user to view the definition of a custom attribute.
Custom attributes - Edit Allows the user to edit a custom attribute.
Datasets - Add Allows the user to create a dataset.
Datasets - Advanced search Allows the user to use the advanced search.
Datasets - Certify Allows the user to certify a dataset.
Datasets - Delete Allows the user to delete a dataset.
Datasets - Download Allows the user to download a dataset.
Datasets - Edit Allows the user to edit a dataset.
Datasets - Manage custom attributes, tags, and description Allows the user to:
  • Create, delete, and edit custom attributes
  • Add and remove tags
  • Add, edit, and delete the description of a dataset
Datasets - Refresh sample Allows the user to refresh the sample of a dataset.
Datasets - Set semantic type Allows the user to set the semantic type applied to a column.
Datasets - Share Allows the user to share a dataset.
Datasets - View Allows the user to view a dataset.

Rule - Viewer
Permission Description
Rules - View Allows the user to display and export data quality rules.
