Google Cloud Storage properties

Properties to configure to establish a connection to Google Cloud Storage.

Google Cloud Storage connection

Select Google Cloud Storage in the list and configure the connection.

Configuration

Select your engine from the list and set the main and advanced settings.

Main settings

Google credentials Paste the content of the JSON file that contains your service account key. To know more about the Google Cloud authentication process, read the Google Cloud documentation.

After configuring the connection, give it a display name (mandatory) and a description (optional).

Google Cloud Storage dataset

Dataset configuration
Property Configuration
Dataset name Enter a display name for the dataset. This name will be used as a unique identifier of the dataset in all Talend Cloud apps.
Connection Select your connection in the list. If you are creating a dataset based on an existing connection, this field is read-only.
Main settings

Bucket name Select or enter the name of your Cloud Storage bucket.
Blob name Select or enter the name of the file to be retrieved.
Content type format Select in the list the format of the file to be retrieved and enter or select the information related to this file format:
  • CSV:
    • Line separator type: Select the type of line separator used in the file to be retrieved. If you select Other, you will be able to enter a custom line separator in the line separator string field.
    • Encoding type: Select the type of encoding used in the file to be retrieved. If you select Other, you will be able to enter a custom encoding type in the Custom encoding field.
    • Header: enable this option if the file to be retrieved contains header lines and enter or select the number of lines to be skipped in the schema.
    • Field separator type: Select the type of field separator used in the file to be retrieved. If you select Other, you will be able to enter a custom separator in the Field separator encoding field.
      Information noteNote: When you enable the Header option, Space cannot be used as a field separator.
  • Avro:
    • No specific parameters required for this format.
  • Excel:
    • Excel format: Select the format/version corresponding to the file to be retrieved.
    • Sheet name: Enter the name of the specific Excel sheet you want to be retrieved.
    • Header/Footer: Enable these options if the file to be retrieved contains header and/or footer lines and enter or select the number of lines to be skipped in the schema.
  • JSON:
    • No specific parameters required for this format.
Advanced settings
Property Configuration
Format configuration If you select the CSV format, specify the following parameters:
  • Escape character: enter the escape character you want to be used. The escape character used by default is \.
  • Quote character: enter the quote character you want to be used. The quote character used by default is ".
Format configuration If you select the JSON format, specify the following parameter:
  • Infer all numbers as double: toggle the option ON if you want the numbers to be inferred as double in the JSON file.
