Creating a Slope Graph using a Line Chart
In this video, you’ll learn how to create a Slope Graph in Qlik Cloud using a line chart.
A slope graph is a visualization designed to compare values between two points in time across multiple categories. It highlights changes, trends, and differences clearly by connecting values with lines.
In this example, the visualization uses:
- Category Name as the main dimension
- Year as the comparison dimension
- An expression that calculates the ratio of Sum(Sales) to the total Sum(Sales) across all years
You’ll also see how to:
- Enable data points and value labels
- Format the measure as a percentage
- Reorder dimensions to create the slope graph structure
- Adjust line thickness, data point size, and label styling
- Configure the Y-axis for a cleaner presentation
By the end of this video, you'll have a clear Slope Graph that highlights category changes between years.
