Planning tab

The Planning tab is used to automate the startup and stop phases using a scheduler specific to Talend Change Data Capture

The Scheduler is started up on the AS/400 IBMi source using the DDSCHEDULE command (see Operating and supervising a replication).

In addition to the start and stop functions, the Talend Change Data Capture Scheduler periodically checks (about every five minutes) whether a distribution that must be enabled is in fact being executed, and a distribution that must be stopped has indeed been stopped.

The Scheduler corrects any problem that occurs.

Supervise by Scheduler

This specifies whether the distribution is checked by the Talend Change Data Capture Scheduler.

Stop by END_DDxxxx mark

This check box is selected if the distribution is stopped because it encountered an END instruction in the script triggered through the presence of the END_DDxxxx mark (see below).

If this check box is selected, the Scheduler does not handle the automatic start up of the replication.

When the engine is started (using the Start option in the manager or the DDCTL command in AS/400 IBMi), this check box is cleared automatically.

Working schedule

This schedule models a standard workweek, hour by hour, and shows the hours during which the distribution is enabled in green, and the hours during which the replication must be disabled in red.

To facilitate input, you can directly select the following:

  • The entire schedule

  • A full day

  • A specific hour for the entire week

  • A specific hour on a specific day

You can then use the Active or Inactive button to enable or disable the selected field.
