Distributing reports to folders
The Qlik NPrinting Server can deliver reports to a specified folder location.
You can create destination folders and use them in publish tasks. All folder paths are referenced to the Qlik NPrinting Server hard disks.
Requirements

Your Qlik NPrinting user account which runs the Qlik NPrinting scheduler service must have full NTFS file and folder network access in order to share network folder resources.

The Qlik NPrinting user must have the Developer or Administrator security role to create destination folders.
Entering user folder and subfolder
Do the following:

Select Admin from the Qlik NPrinting main menu, and then select Users.

Select the user that should receive the report.
To learn how to create users, see Creating users.

In the Folder field, enter C:\QlikReportingTraining\Output\<username>.

In the Subfolder field, enter the name of the user that should receive the report.
This value will be concatenated with another parameter to obtain the complete final path.
- Save the changes.
Creating a new destination folder
Do the following:
- Select Destinations in the main menu, and then select Folders.
- Click Create folder.

Type a folder name.

In the App drop-down list, select an app.
Folder path options
In the drop-down list, under the Path option, you can select which parts to use for the final path. The following options are available:
- Custom path: type a fixed part of the path.
- Separator: insert a separator between the folders.
- User name: insert a user name.
- User folder: use the path entered in the Folder field of the user profile.
- User subfolder: use the path entered in the Subfolder field of the user profile.
- Qlik variable: the list of available Qlik variables in all .qvw files connected to the app.
You can use the plus sign (+) to concatenate other parts of the final path.

Do the following:

In the Path section, click Select type, and then select Custom path in the drop-down list.

Enter C:\QlikReportingTraining\Output\ in the text box.

Click the plus sign (+) to add a new piece of the path.

Click Select type, and then select User subfolder from the drop-down list.
%%User_Subfolder%% is inserted automatically. The Preview field shows the final structure of the folder.

Click Create to confirm and save.
Adding destination folders in the task
Do the following:
- In the main menu bar, click Tasks, and then select Publish task.
- Click on the task you want to edit.
- Click the Destinations tab.
- Click the plus sign (+) to add a folder column.
- Click Select folder, and then select the destination folder.

Click Add to confirm the new destination.
The name of the destination folder is displayed in the user interface.
- Click Save.
- Click Overview in the Taskmain menu. Click Run now to run the task manually.
By selecting the check boxes for NewsStand, Email, and <destination folder>, you can specify which folders will contain the final reports.
The reports are available in their designated folders.
