# Exporting a Semantic Mapping

You may import a semantic mapping from CSV file in a specific format defined for TDC.

**Steps**

1. Be sure you already have [created a semantic mapping](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/talend-data-catalog/8.1/Content/user-guide/semantic-mapping/create-a-semantic-mapping.htm).

2. Sign in as a user with at least the **Metadata Export** [capability object role assignment](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/talend-data-catalog/8.1/Content/user-guide/administration-and-system-management/manage-object-roles.htm) on the semantic mapping.

3. [Navigate](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/talend-data-catalog/8.1/Content/user-guide/explore/index.htm) to the object page of the semantic mapping of interest.

4. Click on the ![](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/talend-data-catalog/8.1/Content/user-guide/semantic-mapping/img/image237.png) **More Actions** Icon in the upper right and select **Export to CS**.

5. Enter the file path name to export to.

6. Click **Export**.
