# Mapping data in tMap with the AI assistant (Qlik Answers)

Use the AI assistant (Qlik Answers) to suggest mappings and build mapping expressions in the tMap component.

## About this task

The AI assistant (Qlik Answers) can provide automatic mapping assistance and helps you build mapping expressions in tMap.

## Procedure

1. Open the tMap component and configure the input and output schemas.
2. Click [...] to open the map editor.

   The Expression Builder dialog box opens.
3. Click ![Qlik Answers](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/studio-user-guide/Resources/images/qlik_answers.svg) Qlik Answers, and then click the Intelligent Mapping card to let Qlik Answers generate the mapping.
4. Review the suggested mappings, expressions, and schema changes.

   The AI assistant can add, remove, or rename columns and update column properties in existing input and output tables, including entries in the Var table. It can also create or delete output tables. Column properties include date patterns and precision.

   The AI assistant cannot create input tables, rename output tables, or change read-only or custom columns.
5. Click Accept to apply the proposed changes.

6. Run the Job and verify the output.

## Results

The tMap mapping contains changes proposed by the AI assistant.
